Arette Artesanal Gran Clase Extra Añejo is a highly regarded, additive-free premium tequila crafted at the historic El Llano distillery (NOM 1109) in Tequila, Jalisco. Produced by the Orendain brothers, Eduardo and Jaime, it represents the pinnacle of their traditional, small-batch craftsmanship. Each bottle is single-barrel, limited-production, and hand-decorated.
Production Details
- Agave Source: 100% Blue Weber agave grown in the lowlands of Jalisco.
- Extraction & Cooking: Cooked via autoclave and extracted using a traditional roller mill.
- Fermentation: Naturally fermented in open-air cement/stone tanks without using fiber.
- Distillation: Twice distilled in stainless steel pot stills with copper coils.
- Aging Process: Matured for 36 to 48 months in single-barrel American white oak barrels (often used bourbon barrels).
- Proof: 40% ABV (80 Proof).
Flavor Profile & Character
Because it is aged heavily in used bourbon single barrels, this Extra Añejo beautifully bridges the gap between traditional tequila and fine whiskey.
- Aroma: An agave-forward nose integrated with tropical fruits, jalapeño, bell pepper, and distinct oak notes.
- Palate: Rich, smooth, and full-bodied. It features notes of dark caramel, vanilla, crème brûlée, fresh-cut wood, malt, cinnamon, and baking spices.
- Finish: Thick, bright, and spicy with a lingering kick of black pepper and warm cedar
