Basil Hayden Cognac Cask Reserve is a limited-edition Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey released in September 2026. It marks the brand's first time finishing their signature high-rye bourbon in barrels previously used for a non-American spirit.
Production & Aging
- The Base: It begins with the traditional Basil Hayden Bourbon high-rye mash bill, initially aged in new charred American oak barrels.
- The Finish: The bourbon is transferred into specially selected French oak casks that exclusively held French Cognac for 20 to 25 years.
- Proof: True to the approachable style of the James B. Beam Distilling Co.'s Basil Hayden lineup, it is bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV).
