Jefferson’s Reserve 8 Year Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon is the newly refreshed, age-stated flagship expression from Jefferson's Bourbon. Founded in 1997 by Trey Zoeller and his father Chet, the brand recently updated this core bottle to carry an official 8-year age statement and bumped the proof up to 96 proof (48% ABV), moving away from the previous 90.2 proof, non-age-stated blend.
The 8-Year Expression Breakdown
To craft this updated expression, master blender Ale Ochoa selected a blend where the youngest whiskey has matured for at least eight years in American oak barrels.
- Tasting Profile: Upfront notes of dark fruit, vanilla custard, green apple, and caramel, giving way to toasted almonds, rich toffee, and heavy oak on the palate. The finish is long, warm, and distinctly spicy.
