Nose: Warm honey and soft wheat sweetness lead the way, layered with gentle oak, vanilla, and light spice. As it opens, subtle dessert and fruit notes drift forward.
Palate: Surprisingly full and rounded for the proof — balanced sweetness, light char, and smooth baking spice with a creamy, toasted undertone. Easy-drinking, approachable, and flavorful without being heavy.
Finish: Clean, lightly drying, and honey-leaning with mellow oak and warm spice carrying through to a lingering touch of sweetness.
Process / Finish:
Kentucky Nectar is finished using real organic honey placed inside a new charred oak barrel—never artificial sweeteners. The softer wheat mashbill keeps the profile refined rather than overly sweet, allowing the honey to elevate rather than overpower the whiskey. The finishing process is truly hands-on: barrels had to be rotated regularly to ensure full contact with the honey, and even drew in swarms of bees during filling. This labor-intensive method paid off—blind tastings against leading honey-finished bourbons showed Kentucky Nectar winning unanimously for balance, drinkability, and overall preference.
